Default Is this what I think this is??? Possible Clubsport?

So I found this:

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac...106385791.html

on craigslist.

I have emailed him/her like three times to no avail,

from the pictures it looks like a auto clubsport, the owner doesnt even know anything it seems, I mean those ac schnitzer wheels, possible ACS spoiler, euro taillights, full m3 aero - even mirrors, sport interior - except for front bumper but thats probably why its salvaged? super clean too and only 1800! I saw another post up for it as 1500.

What else do you guys see with ti??

Maybe someone lucky on here can pick it up.

it's not a clubsport, clubsports were manual only and had a black and red interior, and those mirrors look like aftermarket "M3 style" mirrors

it is super clean considering the mileage and salvage title and it does have a few AC Schnitzer goodies on it, seems like a good deal

That is a Sport (or an interior swap).
Nice find!

Looking from the exterior. It has the thick and short door mouldings. This is not a sport. If it wad a sport it would have the thin and wide door mouldings with the mtech badge in them

I should of known from the interior, I knew of the red and black interior but for some reason I thought that it was red and black - also I only have heard of the 318ti CS in stick shift but didn't know it was only stick.

@ tiFreak - what gives you the hint of the mirrors being only "M3 style" mirrors?

@ teetime4one - ya seems pretty decent, here is another one that could possibly be a good buy too:

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv...111687828.html

@jafoolii - the door moldings huh, never knew that, thanks for the info.

I honestly don't have the funds to pick any of those up, and don't want to sell my current ti especially after I just put some work into it - which I will be updating on my thread (its been 6months since my last update I think?)

Too bad its not really a Club sport - Kinda hoping he has a m50/m52 hiding under there too lol.

Mostly because he says: "Sports car runs like a sports car." And there is no way a auto m42 feels like a sports car!

Not in 1995 my friend. A 1995 sport looks just like a base or active model. all of the goodies you are familiar with came along in 1996.

It's interesting that you guys stateside had the M-tech mouldings on '96+ cars only and not earlier... in Germany they are part of the M-package and were orderable from the very beginning when the Compact was released... (if you not directly bought a Compact with full M-package)

anassa: look very closely at the styling of the mirrors. An OEM M3 mirror looks like this:

The ones on the car in the ad look slightly different.

Also, the way that ad is setup, it totally looks like a scam. If those are all authentic ACS parts (spoilers, wheels, etc) those parts alone are probably worth close to $1800. Based on what I've seen ti's go for recently in the LA area, that car looks way too clean to only command an $1800 asking price. Unless, of course, it has some serious mechanical issues.

The ad for the second one has been up on Craigslist off and on for least a year or more... moreover, the way he talks in the ad and the fact that he blew up two motors in a short time tells me that he probably drove it hard. Again, if that car was well sorted, other than the blown motor, $1800 would not be a bad price, IMO.

@ zoner:

You are totally right, the mirror looks different, i don't know about a scam - it does seem hard to contact him/her - but if it has replica parts, newer paint job, salvage title (who knows what damage - probably reason for the newer paint job) high miles - 286k it could land somewhere in that price range. Those aftermarket parts - if replica + salvage title could in my opinion kill the value some as the new owner does not know what other things good of bad could of been modified. Also if it was a scam I doubt they would have bad things about the car listed - for example the high mileage and salvage title - also those pictures seem to be done with a camera phone.

As for the second one with the blown engine, I am not as sketched by that as I have actually met the owner, the supercharger was sold - I don't doubt he drove it hard for a bit to see how that supercharger felt, reason for blown engine in my opinion though is that 4.10 diff, the engine probably couldn't take the pressure of the supercharger and that how fast those rpms went up with the 4.10 diff. I actually think that the car is pretty well sorted expect needing a new m44 which he has a hookup for apparently 300 - and at around 2100 it seems very reasonable.

But I have found other good buys before and if I bought every single one I would be broke and have too many non running cars in the driveway. I just hope that whoever gets it does it justice and maybe is a member so we can learn more about it.

Re: the second car- I'm just wondering why it's taking him so long to get rid of it. $1,800 seems pretty fair if it is solid other than the motor. With another $1000-1500 into it, you could have a very clean car! If it were a '95, I'd consider scooping it up as I have an M42 sitting on an engine stand ready to go.

Thats what I'm thinking! If it was a 95 I probably would of sold of my car for it. I wish him luck though, he bought the z3m interior from me and seems like he takes care of his stuff so it will be a good buy for someone.
