Any e36 kit will work. A stock m3 shifter is like 20% reduction for the ti. A 3.0 z3 is like a 30% reduction, and MZ3 is like 40% reduction. The real SSKs will have varying rates, but one made for an m3 will give a larger reduction than what is advertised for the m3. Understeer.com has the best deals on stock shifters, and it tells you the amounts of reduction. Like I said, any kit for the e36/z3, but I some may require some bending of the rod or selector rod to make the shift knob centered in neutral. Search this forum and you will find any answer you can need. | | | 05-10-2010, 05:42 AM | #5 | Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Weston,FL,US Posts: 73 | yeah i had found a thread but i went to search what the guy said and the website was deleted or something for false advirtisement so i stopped there ill look around tomorrow. around how much are they? and which is the best fit? __________________ | | | 05-10-2010, 06:15 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | http://understeer.com/onlinestore-shifters.shtml We have the same transmission as the 318/323/325. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 05-10-2010, 06:54 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: N.W. VT Posts: 33 | Short Shifter Help The Z3 1.9 shifter shortens the throw by 30% and does not require any modifications to the shifter rod. To install you need the shifter lever, the plastic bushing and two clips (get an extra, they have wings). I have had one in my car for two years and it works fine for me, not like a toggle switch but better than stock. BMA Autoparts sells the complete kit for $85, close to what a dealer will charge for the parts. http://www.bmaparts.com/epcgetspecia...34%2FE36%2FE24 | | | 05-11-2010, 03:56 AM | #8 | Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Weston,FL,US Posts: 73 | thanks i think im going to order it tonight i have to check the bank account first lol __________________ | | | 05-11-2010, 03:57 AM | #9 | Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Weston,FL,US Posts: 73 | what about front sport springs/shocks? __________________ | | | 05-11-2010, 09:15 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Weston,FL,US Posts: 73 | i just bought the shifter off understeer i cant wait for it arrive __________________ | | | 05-11-2010, 09:18 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Pittsburgh, Pa Posts: 107 | i was looking at the ssk from UUC along with the selector rod that fixes the side to side on the shift. a bit more money, but hopefully will last a bit longer (w/out the plastic pieces). You will need a little bend in it to make it fit perfect. The shift is real tight and if your not tracking your car you don't need to worry about a money shift. I've had mine for 1.5 years and I can't stand driving any other car. It is the $hit. It takes about 1/2 tank of gas to get used to it. It is a little notchy but I like that and if you don't then wrap a pound of lead solder around your shift linkage. My opinion ****I have never owned a expensive shifter so maybe I should not be commenting on this thread*** | | | 05-12-2010, 12:03 AM | #13 | Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Weston,FL,US Posts: 73 | lol its okay i like everyones say. and i almost have enough money for a turbo if u are still building them johnboy ill take it over to you maybe in the winter if you are still doing it __________________ | | | 05-12-2010, 01:50 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | ^^^I help all people that show up. I've got one on my ti and my E30. Can't beat the price. Search eBay for item number 230471328034. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
