Question suspension help needed-

I have everything removed up front.
how do I get the control arm bush/lollipop off the end of the arm without destroying the bushing? pounding.....no good.

I saw a post for a tip (not the KB) on how to install the upper strut bolt.
It looked like a spark plug socket with an allen key holding the spindle....open end wrench to turn the plug socket...
anyone know how to ?

I also messed up a caliper bolt. 3 popped with heat/pB and a billy pipe on a ratchet. The last spun, didn't shear off, just spun...as of now i'm up a creek.....and now it's snowing out.

tia- josh

I used a deep socket if remember for the main bolt on the struts...like a spark plug bolt...found it in my tools..and it worked.(good point of NEVER throwing anything away lol)

I got extra caliper bolts if you need one, just S/H and it's yours(Like 2$ I guess for Postage/Package)..nevermind re-read your problem, if it's spinning have you tried extracting out with....with a inserted hex, or pliars..might work? If it snapped and you can get the post out you might be able to work the caliper off. Sorry trying to think of the best way to do this...depending on what exactly happened to the bolt, it could be messy.

The bushing I don't know, are you trying to reuse it? or just seperate the cont. arm from it? I tried to seperate my 97's 95 m3 bushing when I was tearing it down, gave up on it and the whole assembly is in the corner of the garage.

well- I took the cab/lollypops to a shop and they pressed right out.
I'm trying to reuse the offset m3 bushings.

Now all I have to do is figure out how press them onto the new arms.
I got one flush, but that isn't far enough....

anyone know how to accomplish this? Should I rub the paint off the tip of the arm? It's really tight/snug. Do they have to be pressed on in a certain position? Seems like when the car is lowered to ground, if not correct, it will twist the bushing inside the lolly....

this job is not easy (struts/arms)- I don't care what anyone says.....

thanks panzer- I may need that cali bolt too....i'll let you know.

The same way they were pressed out is the proper way to press them back in. You can find a bushing tool that lets you screw down a bolt and it presses against a plate that pushes the bushing into the lollipop. Probably easier just to take it back to that shop and have them press in the new bushings the right way.
