This might just make the car look cool, but what would it like do in speaking about driving...taking turnes...etc? | | | 06-18-2006, 09:28 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Long Beach area Posts: 1,189 | lol good question... I was thinking about that too. Just for kicks I was going to put my stock 16s on the front and keep the rear 17s on... but yeah... On the NSX, I believe that it comes stock like that (I think it's 17 front and 18 rear...) I actually would like to know the answer to his question lol... -Randy __________________ 97 Jet Black 318ti Sport. Not so stock anymore!.... Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.... corners = OEM, Moldings = OEM, came with the car (Sport Package) (Sorry, my PM is full and I need to resubscribe to become a site supporter again...) -Randy __________________ 97 Jet Black 318ti Sport. To obtain this, the front tire diameter would be goofy small in the wheel well. All of this is my opinion though, so take it as that... I'd like to see pics of this done out of curiosity. | | | 06-19-2006, 09:29 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Southern California Posts: 208 | Quote: Originally Posted by 3DGE Ok so I was talking to this BMW guy at his shop about tires, he told me I should get 18inch rear tires and 17inch front. If anything just get some wider wheels for the rear. | | | 06-20-2006, 01:30 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Halethorpe, MD Posts: 1,028 | Personally I wouldn't mismatch the sizes. You could play with the sidewall height a little and probably get them close, but it would still look goofy. Putting wider wheels/tires on the back will just make the understeer worse. I've been playing with tire sizes for the last couple years and I've come to the conclusion that BMW knew what they were doing with the 225/50 16 combo that the car came with. | | | 06-20-2006, 03:46 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: MD/VA/DC Posts: 834 | look at my pictures i have 18s in the rear and 17 in the front i have 245 rear and 235 in the front i take turns harder and faster then my green ti or my othere black ti that have 17 inch all around | | | 06-20-2006, 04:11 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: MD/VA/DC Posts: 834 | i say to you dont buy a lager rims for the rear but buy wider rims | | | 06-21-2006, 01:25 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Puerto Rico Posts: 885 | i think is better idea the four wheels in the same size, i have 20x8.5 all around __________________ BMW...MY NEW TOY Mods: Some plastic parts, ///M Wheels and me | | | 06-21-2006, 01:45 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Long Beach area Posts: 1,189 | Quote: Originally Posted by FATHER i think is better idea the four wheels in the same size, i have 20x8.5 all around | ... I think that 20s are WAAAAY too big for our tis..or E36s in general. 18 would be the biggest that I'd go. __________________ 97 Jet Black 318ti Sport. Not so stock anymore!....
