The new three series is hideous. Especially the rear end... look at this: www.autopower.se/prov/3serien/default.asp I don't know if I'm just used to the E36 look, but it looks as though they just changed the look of the E46 to make it look as ugly as it can be. There's absolutely no character in that new car. I don't usually feel sorry for BMW dealers, but I think I am starting to since their jobs are going to "you know what"..... | | | 03-04-2005, 06:47 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Tyler, TX Posts: 1,022 | The E90 is starting to grow on me. I know, I know, I'm sick in the head, but it's starting to look more like the ugly chick that's cool, as opposed to the Rosie O'Donnel. | | | 03-04-2005, 07:26 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Can you say Pontiac? __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 03-04-2005, 07:41 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: New Jersey Posts: 363 | I don't mind the front of the car very much, I actually think it looks quite agressive. But I have a big problem with those diamond shaped taillights... there awful. Not that I will really have to worry about being in one, they'll be too much money for me to ever think about owning. First thing they gotta do is change up those tail lights. I think however that BMW is trying out some more aggresive styling cues to change away from their conservative look. I know this angers alot of loyal BMW fans, but it is also attracting a lot of new buyers. I think it is nothin more than a marketing ploy. I mean I see more new BMW 7-series in a month than I have seen of the older ones my entire life. I see0 the new 5-series every day, and I see more 6's as well... They may have changed from their roots of conservatism but they are doing something "right" marketwise. That is just what I think... But I also think that 318ti's and M-coupes are drop dead gorgeous cars. So what I said can eb taken with a grain of salt. ;} __________________ RIP Tonka Hitlerietta 08/03/04 - 01/25/05 | | | 03-04-2005, 07:46 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Cola. A couple days later I saw the front of another and just looked right past it, thinking it was a 5-series. It is only when I saw the side of a third that it finally registered that this is the new 3er. As you might gather, my first impression of the new E90 is that a lot of it looks recycled rather than new.
