Genuine runs 111.00 cheapest I can find. Any other leads cheaper? Bimmerbum? I'm adding this to my cooling overhaul bin. Was just wondering if I could cut cost here... __________________ [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] | | | 07-30-2014, 03:30 AM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2014 Location: Southern California Posts: 25 | I do! I do all the time, but keep in mind i work on cars for a living and get the little things warrantied all the time too. Just did my wife's E38 one the second time in 2 years. Had good luck with the one I put in the ti so far tho. It's a risk. | | | 07-30-2014, 03:34 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: Northern Michigan Posts: 867 | Ok thanks... what brand did you use? Do you know how they fail? They range from 30 bux and up... __________________ [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] | | | 07-31-2014, 05:57 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2012 Location: SF Bay Area Posts: 315 | I've purchased from BMAparts.com in Southern CA. Best price I've found and they sell the Bosch unit which is the same as OEM. No issues with the replacements I've bought. | | | 07-31-2014, 06:29 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Georgia Posts: 595 | Quote: Originally Posted by marleymon Ok thanks... what brand did you use? P0340 code has not come back since replaced 1.5k miles. __________________ 1996 Ti 280k miles and still going.... 1993 964 - holding on to this one 2001 Burban, 240k miles 2018 Suburban Z71 | | | 07-31-2014, 06:34 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2012 Location: SF Bay Area Posts: 315 | Both camshaft and crankshaft sensors at BMAparts.com are less than $130 each, shipped with no shipping or sales tax. Oh, and they're OEM not aftermarket. That is each, but again, it's OEM. | | | 08-02-2014, 09:14 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2011 Location: Heber City, Utah Posts: 242 | Don't buy aftermarket...they can be bad right out of the box! | | | 09-03-2014, 08:51 PM | #11 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2014 Location: Southern California Posts: 25 | sorry it took so long, was cleaning out the garage a bit yesterday and came across the box I got my last cheapy Cam sensor in. its a Hamburg-Technic. if I remember correctly I paid like 35 or so bucks for it. I drive the car 2 or 3 times a week and haven't had any issues recur. my wife has the same brand in her 740iL and drives it daily with no issues. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
