Yes that looks very odd to me? The boat man? If you can get the parts before the cops find it your golden though. I would not pay this guy anything but cash if I were you.

Default Think about it....

Gulfport - as in Mississippi....the place got trashed by Hurricane Katrina.
(Folks tend to associate Katrina with N.O. however the Biloxi/ Gulfport region was decimated).
He may be in the hills, however that region was trashed by tornadoes - generated by the hurricane.

Either way - its going to be a problem.

Cheers.

I'd ask him to give you the VIN so that you can "find out what options it came with." Then have the police run the VIN to find out if it's stolen, etc.

Damn, why are no deals like this ever in the northeast?

For $900, I'd be over there tomorrow giving him a $100 deposit, getting the vin, THEN having the cops run it. Worst case its stolen and I'm out $100. Best case I get parts-z3 for $900

So it can't be titled? What about a "salvage" title?

it's possible to get a salvage title, but it would have to be done in mississippi and go through a full inspection, then the title can be filed as rebuilt or salvage.

Gotcha, thanks.

I don't know why I'm looking at a flood-damaged car in Mississippi when there will be hundred's, if not thousands, of flood-damaged cars available here soon.

yea this oil spill is going to kill our cars.. economy .. and jobs

i say no more than a month after its hit shore here this town will be dead.
the fumes/gases alone are going to kill or make us very sick. i have already put me a house on hold up north west incase it gets that bad.

I wasn't referring to the oil spill. I'm in Nashville, TN... we had a "thousand-year flood" here last week, but I doubt you heard about it as the major news networks were too busy covering the oil spill and the failed car-bombing attempt in NYC.

So, I expect that the parts car market here will soon be "flooded" with flood-damaged cars.
