If so, how did you deal with it? Because right now, my Ti sounds like a hornet's nest on the outside, can't hear the rattle inside though. I added sound deadner to the trunk lid already. | | | 01-01-2006, 11:42 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: UK Posts: 312 | Have a read of this http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/vbb/thread58457.html some of the guys on the talkaudio forums have actually blown windows out in SPL competitions so they know a thing or two about controlling bass. | | | 01-01-2006, 02:52 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: cary, nc Posts: 2,259 | lots of rattling is caused by the license plate rattling against the hatch...you can always pad that too. mine actually doesnt rattle too much __________________ 1995 318ti Active Pioneer Speakers [] Aluminum Billet door locks [] ACS Pedals/Deadrest [] ACS Shift Knob / E-Brake Handle [] Clear Corners/Tails/Sides [] Sylvania Exterior Lighting [] Custom CAI [] Dinan Engine Chip [] Dinan Transmission Chip [] H&R Race Springs [] Tokico Illumina Shocks [] BMW X-Brace [] Relocated Lighter Mod [] Custom iPod Mod http://www.cardomain.com/id/robcarync | | | 01-02-2006, 01:02 AM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Posts: 13 | I padded the license plate and tightened it down all the way. Ex: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ALfNbDI...search=dynomat You can line your trunk up this stuff and get rid of that rattle and also make your sub sound better. I'm planning on buying some in the spring when it arms up a little. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 01-02-2006, 07:22 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Posts: 13 | I have sound deadening in the trunk lid already, it didn't help much. | | | 01-02-2006, 08:21 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: tailgating your slow ass Posts: 518 | Then it is simple get rid of the subs they are added weight and take up alot of room. | | | 01-03-2006, 07:02 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: cary, nc Posts: 2,259 | adjust the gain on your amp or head unit so the subs arent so loud and powerful __________________ 1995 318ti Active Pioneer Speakers [] Aluminum Billet door locks [] ACS Pedals/Deadrest [] ACS Shift Knob / E-Brake Handle [] Clear Corners/Tails/Sides [] Sylvania Exterior Lighting [] Custom CAI [] Dinan Engine Chip [] Dinan Transmission Chip [] H&R Race Springs [] Tokico Illumina Shocks [] BMW X-Brace [] Relocated Lighter Mod [] Custom iPod Mod http://www.cardomain.com/id/robcarync | | | 01-03-2006, 07:38 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Watford, herts, England Posts: 805 | Quote: Originally Posted by Tyler Why don't you buy some of that dynamat stuff. It's a piece of Dynomat, cut to the exact shape of you plate. Needless to say, it stops the rattle. Check out Tweeter, I know that they have it. __________________ "Power Rules, Smooth is Fast, Late Brake if you HAVE TO, But Always get the Inside Line.......and Fear No One." | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
