Question '95 318ti models (ie base, active & sport)

I purchased my son a 1995 318ti.

I believe it's the sport model ( m3 front & rear bumper) however the BMW parts dealer told me it was not. I gave him the last seven digits from the VIN and he showed me all the factory options (ie sports seats, sport suspension, sunroof and so on). I asked him how do I know what model I have? His response was, it's not listed in the database so you must have the base

I have searched for hours but the information I'm finding is not for North America

Has anyone created a sticky thread for the 318ti models sold in North America (1995 - 1999)? If not, I will compile this information and share with all.

Thank you!

PS - I'm aware of the club sport

this is the best resource I have found when deciding what model one of our cars is...

The Ti Companion

If you go to the main forum page (that lists all the different categories), the very top one is the companion.

so, you have sport seats, sport suspension, and the M tech bumpers and somehow you have a base?

EDIT: I just remembered that the 95 sport models came with the non-m bumpers, they must have been added on by the PO, but if it came with sport seats and suspension it's definitely a sport

Try this site here, you can do a VIN# search and it will tell you the year and make of the car and hopefully you can figure everything else out from their.

that would be the california-edition I believe, I'm not sure if those came with the base and active packages, but if you don't have the ///M bumper, that's what I'd say you have
