I also have a wrecked 98 318ti auto that has a good low mileage engine. Whats the best way to approach the swap? Can a M44 be made to work in an ODB1 car? Since the 98 is an auto I imagine using the M44 along with its harness and ecu will be a problem? Thanks for any info. | | | 01-14-2005, 08:14 AM | #2 | I miss my Ti....... :( Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 828 | SUre can ... The engine has OBD not the car. -Chad | | | 01-15-2005, 08:19 AM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Carmel Valley, CA Posts: 21 | Yes, the engine has OBD (ODB1 on the 95 and ODB2 on the 98 M44). What I am wondering is will the engine harness in the 95 plug into the M44? Will it require rewiring sensors? Or swapping sensors? Or will I have to use the M44 engine harness with the M44. | | | 01-16-2005, 12:21 AM | #4 | I miss my Ti....... :( Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 828 | M44 Harness Quote: Originally Posted by wctouring7 Yes, the engine has OBD (ODB1 on the 95 and ODB2 on the 98 M44).
