When i put my car back down off the jacks the cars stance was way higher than normal, after i drove it a while it went back to its original stance but should that happen? (Ive been wanting to get new springs and shocks, is this a sign that they are dieing?) Also i noticed some of the belts are cracked and worn out in the front how especially the thinner of the 2 belts... should i get them changed and how much am i looking at for repair costs? Is it a DIY or should i take it to a garage? thanks peeps | | | 06-24-2005, 06:50 AM | #2 | I miss my Ti....... :( Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 828 | Quote: Originally Posted by rendoll911 Alright i just finished changing my oil which went well but now i have a few other novice questions.. The serpintine belt is the expensive one. -Chad | | | 06-24-2005, 07:20 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2004 Location: IDAHO Posts: 134 | i switched both belts myself... 28 bucks... When you lower the car back down onto the ground the rubber sticks and can't move sideways, so it binds the suspension and won't drop all the way. Once you get the tires rolling, it's easier for them to move outward, and your car returns to normal ride height. | | | 09-07-2005, 08:40 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | I just replaced both belts, no squeaking Quote: Originally Posted by prd318ownr yeah my ac is squeaky as hell too after i just put on a new belt, and it doesnt seem to be getting tighter | __________________ 1998 (July) 318ti, 5-spd OEM Armrest Blaupunkt Heidelberg CD50 CD Player/Compact Drive MP3 Player Diamond Audio 5.25" rear speakers Navman ICN 530 GPS BMWALARM.COM (with comfort settings) after market alarm system Magnecor 8.5mm wires M-Z3 Shifter/Momo Knob Burlwood Dashboard Stromung Exhaust X-brace Racing Dynamics Front Strut Bar Carbonio C.A.I. 17" Rial Rims Vader Seats/Heated/Lumbar Support M-tech Steering Wheel/Front Sway Bar/Front & Rear Bumper Depos/w 6500K Angel Eyes/6000K HIDs Clear Corners M3 Mirrors UUC Light Weight Flywheel/M5 Clutch/M3 Clutch Slave E28 3.46 LSD/Mcoupe Cover/E30 Flanges & Halfshafts UUC S.S.
