Question 96 318ti check this noise out!!!!!
WHEN I START MY TI AND LET IT WARM UP, I SHIFT INTO DRIVE AN PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL AND IT SOUNDS LIKE A GRINDING NOISE. ONLY IN DRIVE NOT IN REVERSE NOT IN NEUTRAL. IF I PULL ON MY PARKING BRAKE AND SHIFT INTO DRIVE AGAIN AND PRESS THE GAS PEDAL IT GRINDS AGAIN.

SOME SAY A IDLER PULLEY, I DONT THINK SO. IT SHOULD GRIND ALL THE TIME THE PULLY IS SPINNING....RIGHT???

I CHANGED THE BALL JOINTS AND ARM BUSHINGS, NEW CERAMIC PADS AND DRILLED/SLOTTED ROTORS.

I DO ALL MY OWN WORK ON MY CARS AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HEARD ANYTHING LIKE THIS...:I DONT KNOW WHAT THEIT IS!!!!

So, did you just do all that work? Did the grinding start immediately after you were done?

Basically I'm asking if everything was put back together correctly.

mine makes a weird clanking/rubbing sound when its REALLY cold out in the AM on the first start. It's worse if I turn towards the right, it goes away once the car starts warming up though....

mine makes this really weird grinding noise when i am at certain throttle positions. any ideas?
