Just another question about it.
Did you sand back the whole wheel to give it an even finish or just the affected area?
I did a finish sanding on the entire wheel before coating with the dye... It definitely is a good idea to slightly knock off the original finish with a very light sanding. It will make the dye absorb evenly for a longer lasting and smoother finish.

Did you repair the big hole inthe grey Vader or replace the panel?

That whole seat back was replaced. I unfortunately did not get a picture of the seatback that I replaced it with before I started the process. The refinish process here would not repair damage like that.

The replacement seatback was intact, but the bolster had been worn down to the suede (ie; no finish at all). It only cost me $50, much less than trying to replace just the bolster section.

Leatherz.com - It's made for a Z3, but fits our cars perfectly as they use the same center console.

What did you do with the one side bolster on the dove that was worn all the way down to the foam? Did you have to stitch a new piece of leather in or did you just paint a lot of the leather filler on to that area?

See post #17... That section was replaced, as there is no way to "repair" it using the method/procedure mentioned in this DIY...

Old thread but I know wolferj is still around.

Was the one $65 kit you linked enough material to do your repairs? I want to do both front side bolsters and the steering wheel. I have sport seats with cloth centers so I only need to do the bolsters but want to make sure I have enough material so I don't run out in the middle of the project.

Thanks!

Glenn

Glenn;

It should be, but you could order an extra tube of the patch product to be safe.
