Take a piece of tape and wrap it around the end closest to the plug, and the end closest to the coils. Then right the number of the plug on the tape.. You should also note exactly where they plug in on both ends. If you have little tape tags it is easy enough to just snap a picture of them, then you know exactly how to put it back together.. On a 318 it is easy because it goes in order.. But if you deal with an older car with a distributor and a funky firing order, it can get confusing... | | | 04-26-2008, 10:55 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | That's exactly what had me puzzled when I put my 8mm wires in. On older cars, the distributor fires in a circle, and you take the wires to the cylinders in the order the cylinders fire. With our cars, the wires go 1 to 1 coil to cylinder, and the coil pack fires in the order the cylinders require. Quote: Originally Posted by mohaughn On a 318 it is easy because it goes in order..
