If there are other models like the 328i what parts can switch out without having to modify anything? I think the interiors are interchangeable between all the E36 coupes and sedans, but I might be wrong. | | | 07-03-2007, 02:41 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Stamford, CT <-> Boston, MA Posts: 1,393 | Rear seats are unique to the Ti IIRC __________________ BMWCCA #403399 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman, 6-Speed Loaded 2001 325xi, Winter Package, 5-Speed Traded 1998 318ti, Active, Automatic, TOTAL LOSS R.I.P. 10/20/08 Bilstein Sport Shocks/Struts . My grey cloth drivers seat "pops" and the bottom gives way during sharp cornering. I guess it's a bit worn out...can't find any loose parts/pcs. | | | 07-03-2007, 03:06 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: OKC, Oklahoma Posts: 387 | hmm my seat pops to i wanted to know what the hell that was! | | | 07-03-2007, 04:39 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | My '96 cloth seat did that too. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 07-03-2007, 06:19 AM | #7 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | My guess on the "popping" sound... since mine makes a faint pop/click when I go around corners quickly (which is most of the time, LOL): The seats don't raise/lower/slide by magic, it's a mechanical device... with, believe it or not, moving parts. If you've ever examined moving parts after 8-10 years of use, you've probably noticed [gasp] wear and tear on those moving parts. Yes, it happens, I don't make the rules, I just observe them and report. :-D CLIFF NOTES: Our seats are old, so it's reasonable to expect them to creak a little. Just like me. :-p __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! You should be able to replace everything else with that 328i you mentioned. Depending on the HVAC, instrument cluster, and sound system, you may issues retrofitting those pieces. There's not a lot of room behind the 'ti dash. __________________ 1997 332ti - Don't even ask. 2006 330i - ZPP/ZSP/ZCW/6sp/Nav/BT/H&R Sport 2011 E92 M3 | | | 07-04-2007, 12:07 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Fort Collins, CO Posts: 1,305 | Quote: Originally Posted by Den The doors are Ti-specific, so I would think the door skins would be too. . .and probably the skins that fit the walls beside the rear seat. | nah, doors are sedan doors | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
