I have put together some phenolic spacer kits for M42's and M44's which isolate the intake manifold from the cylinder head. I developed and installed this product on my Supercharged M44 as the intake manifold and blower were getting really heat soaked from all of the extra compression and power and thus heat coming off the motor. It reduced my intake air temps almost 20 degrees F and the actual manifold surface temp over 40 degrees! This is perfect for boosted applications and I have not tested it on an NA set up yet, but should also help keep NA intake manifold temps down a few degrees as well. We all know that the NA 4 bangers need all the help they can get. The Spacer is Water Jet cut out of high grade phenolic fiber board which is rated at nearly 600 degrees! It is 10mm thick and for $135 the kit comes with extended studs, 2 additional locator dowels, phenolic washers, and 2 new manifold gaskets. Includes standard USPS shipping. Let me know if you have any questions. | | | 05-28-2013, 02:46 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Nice! Is there anyone out there with a DASC and a spacer installed who can comment on bracket alignment/mods needed for your install? How thick was your spacer? Thanks! __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! I have sold about 20 of these over the last 3+ years and nobody has ever reported a problem with fitment. The spacer is 10mm and when I installed mine, I simply added some washers to the bracket to space it out a bit. J. Quote: Originally Posted by BlackBMWs Nice!
