Default Some oil/fluid questions

Hey everyone, I need your expert advice. I'm considering a deal with someone at work for his unused Amsoil synthetic. I currently buy cases of Mobil 1 10w-30 from sam's club to do oil changes. A guy at work has 9 quarts of 10w-40 Amsoil that he'll sell to me for $50. Plus he says he'll throw in some synthetic gear lube that he can no longer use.

I'm confused about a couple things. I use different weights of oil than the Amsoil is, so 3 of the quarts would go unused unless I supplemented them with some more 10w-40 synthetic oil, but it wouldn't be Amsoil brand. Should I even consider mixing oil? Or just buy 6 quarts from him for one oil change to take some $$ off the price?

Secondly, I have no idea what "gear lube" is. Anyone have any idea? Could I make use of it?

Thanks for your help.

Gear lube goes in the differential. It would depend on the weight of the lube as to whether or not you could use it. I forget what weight the ti takes, but an internet search should turn that info up. It's also in the Bentley manual and may be in the owner's manual.

Better to stick with what you're running, unless you plan to switch from here on out.
