I also said to the guy I bought the car from - "you know right now, somewhere there is a guy buying a 2004 Neon for $5000." Sad huh?
Yeah, around here pony cars and lifted trucks seem to be the thing with many younger guys, and I can't count how many of them seem to be slushboxes. Heck, just a few weeks ago my younger brother got a Mustang GT (slushbox) and my mom was telling me I'd probably be jealous of him for it. Not even close.

I remember when one of the guys at my old job found out I had gotten a BMW he wouldn't let me hear the end of it. Part of the reason I'm glad I got out of there. In reality, some of the people that are calling us douchbags and status seekers because we drive a BMW are probably saying that because they wish they did.

I think the only people who drive BMW's for status are the
Soccer moms who rock X5's and MILFS that rock super hot 330ci's,
People who have M5's and M6's in their "family car" arsenal.
I would have to say though that people do look at you differently
when they see a young guy driving a "sports car" But, hey that isnt our faults!

Edit!

We didnt speak for almost 2 years after that and now she's getting married to some dude and seems to have a great happy life. But had I not been totaly straight forward with her I'd still be going back for the makeup sex.

It's not about distroying them its about not holding back. Put it all out there and if they dont like the way their sh*t smells they'll leave.

I'm all about pointing out things people need to work on, just don't be more picky than you would be with yourself and don't be passive-aggressive about it.

It's the ad hominem designed only to hurt that I think is counterproductive. Without her self-esteem, those problems that are the actual cause of contention in the relationship become secondary. It takes quite a bit to build that back, and only until then can you fix her other issues.
