Default I had to retighten my T stat and refill..........

it overheated when I had the radiator cap off while bleeding the system. Then later after filling it again I notice the coolant would boil right out of the radiator with the cap off like a volcano

here's what my bentley says about bleeding:

1) with engine cold, add coolant to expansion tank until level reaches COLD mark on tank

2) loosen BLEED SCREW on radiator expansion tank (little X cap near the cap on the expansion tank)

3) set temp controls in passenger compartment to full warm and turn ignition to on position (but do not start engine)

4) slowly add coolant until it spills from bleed screws. when coolant spilling from bleed screws is free of air bubbles, tighten screws.

5) run engine until it reaches operating temperature. after engine has cooled, recheck coolant level and top up as necessary.

It doesn't sound like a head problem.

Give us a detailed explanation of what you have done.

Default Just finished bleeding the way Cali-ti said........

worked just fine.I replaced the t stat two weeks before that I bled the system no problem I had to go back and pull it again because a small class I leak. That is when It overheated when I was in the garage.I had the cap off the rad and had the heat on full blast I fill the coolant until it ran out of the bleeder but like I just mentioned cali ti said the cap should have been on.
