I am not very familiar with coilover lowering springs. Will those do the job? Performance wise and looks wise? They are very cheap that's why I'm conserned if they'll be good.

Also found lowering springs on craigslist. He says they are racing model with almost 2 inch drop. I am on stock with 205/50/16 so theres a big gap between tires and fender in the front.

Really man, $20 springs? Those aren't even safe to use as a paperweight.

If you get 2" drop springs (The ones you mention sound like H&R race springs) you'll definitely want to get new shorter shocks and you'll probably need to get some kind of camber correction as well.

Yeah that's what I thought. I was just trying to get second opinion. And you were saying to get camber correction? What does that mean?
I know that I would need shorter shocks. It wouldn't be complete without them..

What about that kit? It says it's for e39 though.. It wouldn't fit the ti would it?

No that kit won't fit the ti, E39s have coil on strut at all 4 corners, tis don't. Camber correction means camber plates/shims/something to fix the super negative camber you'll have in the front (and rear) when you drop the car 2". Rear needs weld in tabs though.

Im thinking of dropping front and leaving rear as it is. The big hole is on the front and the rear just gets around the wheel.. Is it expensive to make that camber correction? It's the first time I've heard it. Any tips about dropping the car will be very helpful.

you have 5-series rims, right? they stick out a little bit more than your stock rims so with a race suspension you might have clearance issues with your fender

That's what I was looking at today. In the front I'll have clearance and I am concerned about the rear. If its just about under 2 inch it will be very close if not rubbing. I might have to get 1.4 or something like that for the rear. Do you guys know any websites that have reasonable prices? I am about to pick up the set of four H&R almost 2 inch drop.

Take that auction, throw the springs in the garbage. Modify the sleeves to fit the rear (easy), search the race forums for hypercoil springs that suit the height and rates you want to run.

Pair with koni's or billys, and whala....
