Shudder in Low revs-Driveshaft?

Hello-
I have a 97 ti with about 150k. A shudder has been developing for a while in the low revs in 2nd and 3rd. After looking into it a bit I got underneath and checked out the flex disk and transmission mounts...no visible wear on either. So, today I went to the dealer and they told me pretty quickly that I needed a new driveshaft. At the time I assumed they checked the driveshaft bearing, but then I realized that you need to take the whole exhaust assembly off to get at it...I feel like they diagnosed the problem fairly quickly for that kind of job. What do you guys think?

it's possible that they were able to push up on the front of the driveshaft and make it move, I'd recommend that you try to check it yourself before forking over the cash though, just push up and down and see if it moves when you do
