Alarm immobilizer tripped can't start car. Car has been in the body shop for about a month, they disconnected the battery while welding, also removed main ground when putting in new front suspension components. Hooked up the battery after welding drove it over to paint side of shop, 5 hours later painting is done car won't start. Starter doesn't even click nothing. Battery is fine. Dashboard, lights all turn on and work, but windows won't roll down. Also when you open the door alarm light on center console lights up for a second. Pretty sure somehow the alarm starter kill switch has been engaged. Don't have the fob. Pulled the glove box alarm is a Alpine SEC-8047, seems previous owner put the valet switch in one of the slots to the left of the steering wheel. When i hold the switch the center console light will light up solid for a second when i hold the switch again the light flashes twice. From what i read seems consistent with switching between this alarms two valet modes. Car won't start in either. Not sure how to solve this tried unplugging the alarm brain, different keys (shouldn't matter i don't think car is a 95, but engine is a 93). Car is going on a tow truck tomorrow and off to my mechanic, which i'm sure will be able to get to the bottom of it. For my sake I would like to know what is happening at the least, and how to disarm this immobilizer if possible. All help is appreciated, been out of a car for 7 weeks now and this is a rough problem to have when all she needs is an alignment. Car looked gorgeous with new paint and complete front suspension overhaul i just want to get it on the road again. |
