Default turtle headlight lens restorer - amazing!

hey guys, thought i'd share this experience with everyone since I'm sure a lot of you have the same issue..

foggy/yellow/ or dirty headlights.

i was always hesitant about using the sandpaper method, afraid i'd scratch the lenses. well, today i tried to give it an all or nothing shot.

i bought the $10 turtle wax headlight lens restorer, because i wasn't ready to spend $30-40 on a kit, just in case i overworked the process and scratched my headlights. i tried many DIY home remideies and in one case ended up scratching and making my left headlight (as seen in pictures below) even worse.

i did the whole process, (on a 95 degree morning not to mention) and it turned out amazing! they seriously look brand new. my lights used to be all scratched and fogged.

took bout a half hour, and honestly i couldn't be happier. everyone who has dirty headlights, give this a go for sure! turtle wax headlight lens restorer

i did mine a little differently than the exact directions, so if anyone tries this with not the best of results PM me and ill help you out

i would definitely do it. i was hesitant because of its low price and was standing in pep boys for about 10 minutes trying to figure if i should get the $10 kind or one of the more expensive kits. when in all this was more than i ever expected.

I did the 3m kit on mine, amazing how good they look. On my mazda I just took some 1500 grit wetordry, sanded then used some rubbing compound left over from the 3m kit and they too look amazing. The 3m kit came with enough to take care of 2 cars.

that's really cool. yeah, i had plenty of rubbing/cleaning compound left over, enough to do the job a few more times.

Just make sure to wax the headlights or use something like mequires plastix on them to keep them from oxidizing again.

The 3M kit requires this, the turtle wax kit comes with a sealer/uv protectant that seems to work pretty well according to the amazon reviews.

I don't have before and after pics, but I just went to town on my headlights today and they went from being foggy to clear. Entire process took less than a half hour.

Once you get them looking good, consider buying a vinyl plastic lens cover kit which include covers for the fogs and the corner lights, too. About fifty bucks. I've done it on two cars and have been pleased with the protection and durability of the covers. The covers add a bit of depth to the look of the lens. Cheers. John
