Long story. But you asked for it.... I've been Looking for a track car. I figured I would get an E 30, And I was looking mainly in the E 30 forums. I was looking in the Bimmerforums and saw a post for the 318ti. It was somebody in Connecticut who have converted his car to a track car and then was getting married and was getting rid of it. He did the engine swap himself and seemed to have done the very nice job with it. It was posted in his local craigslist. He is from old Saybrook. Connecticut. He did a lot of mods which will make it difficult to get it inspected in PA. Aftermarket steering wheel without airbag. Parking brake delete. He took off one of the windshield wiper arms. I don't know about the seatbelts and washers. I'm out of town and I just got it before I left. But I will have to get a lot of parts and get them installed. Then I can drive it legally the track. I've been to the DMV website a lot in the past day or two and learned quite a bit about what it will take to make it street legal. I also learned that most most states don't require inspections like Pennsylvania does. So I've got a little project on my hands. I live in Dresher, in Montgomery County. I'm not too good with turning wrenches. Do you know anybody in the area might be able to do the work? Glenn |
