I was having that same clicking/tapping noise you were describing but mine was coming from the rear. I took it to work and after shop hours I put it up on a rack. The exhaust had come out of a hanger and the sway bar nuts needed tightening. And I'm glad I had it up when I did, because one of the shock bolts decided to back itself out bout half way That fixed it. But glad to see you found your problem. Good luck with the motor mounts

mtlblue, yes i did have steering problems but that was because at 119,000 miles all the suspension was shot, bushings wore and torn boots, loose steering, i did all the suspension and steering stuff and when i was done i noticed the engine mount noise, yeah it was a little "twitchy" probably just felt the engine moving a little, seams to be less now, but with 225/40r18 my profile is low enough that the road kinda pulls me to the rutts or groves especially in town driving. how many miles on your ti? you should probably check your suspension and your tie-rod ends

a hair short of 100 000 miles, and I do have a little wiggle on a tie rod end, lucky for me I bought a complete lemforder set to have installed so I'll get that done this week and will take a good look at the eng. mounts at the same time.
btw, 225 18, what's your wheel weight? any performance mods and how's your acceleration with these wheels compared to stock? only asking because of another thread going on about wheel weight as a performance mod. the lighter the better I say ;-)

iirc they weigh 16.4lbs a piece, i got a cold air intake but thats about it, my wheels before are the ones in my profile pic they were 16" w/205/60r16, it accelerates pretty good w/the 18's especially over 3000rpm, it was a lot easier to spin the smaller tires though...obviously

Finally climbed under the car to replace the engine mounts.

They are fine.

I am at a loss.

Vortex Motorsport here we come. Wonder if they ever found my rear control arm bushings.

Have a good 4th of July!
