I know there was a group buy for Stromung exhausts for the 318ti's... NOW it's time for the rest of us Z3 folks... Got off the phone with Stromung, and got them to be interested in building exhaust kits for the Z3's. Plan is to cover ALL the Z3's... 4 cyl AND 6 cyl. Single muffler, dual tips are the plan, and NO DRONING. (still have to check up on dual inlet versions) *a little bit of history... Stromung actually made a cat-back kit for the Z3's when the cars were new, but there wasn't enough interest, so that model line is gone. I'm hoping to bring it back... I don't think people who bought the Z3's brand new were interested in modding them... but with the car's current age and price.. I think owners are more than willing to get a sweet exhaust system. Let's make it happen! How well this goes depends on how many people are truly interested. I'd like to see how many are interested... Is this a full cat back system for the 6 cyl Z3 models? M52, M52tu, and M54 fitment? What type of metal is it made from? Estimated cost? __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! CLICK THE LINK ABOVE! So far.. I'm shooting for Stainless, CatBack.. I'll have to discuss with Stromung about the dual Inlet versions. | | | 11-11-2011, 06:38 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: NJ Posts: 106 | I'd be interested to know how they are reducing droning, especially in the 1500-2500 rpm range. I've already been through a Remus catback exhaust system with a severe droning issue in this range. __________________ Mods: DASC, NickG Stage II DME software, 30# injectors, RRFPR removed, DISA Simulator, Secondary Air Pump relocated, bypass cooling hose removed, Fogged airbox, Bosch silver sparkplugs (F6DSR), Magnecore sparkplug wires (KV85), SeattleCircuit mpg adjuster circuit; Textar CeramicFusion brake pads; S/E/M auto trans selector with Euro software TCU; Royal Purple trans (MaxATF) & diff fluids; Koni FSD (F&R); Rogue RSMs; Strong Strut; Butt Strut; Bridgestone Fuzion ZR1 225/50/16 on Style 42's; hardtop; Footwell lighting; Interior lighting On/Off switchable; Euro intermittent wipers; Padded LeatherZ arm rests; Sisa Design Cabrio Wind Deflector; Last edited by Monolith; 11-11-2011 at 11:40 PM. | | | 11-11-2011, 06:43 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Globally Posts: 1,162 | Wow very surprised you say the Remus system drones, but think that comes with the harmonics of the 4 cylinder engines. I get a bit of Drone with my S14 that is VSR center to a Stromung rear can. | | | 11-11-2011, 06:48 PM | #6 | Member Join Date: May 2010 Location: CA Posts: 95 | Hmm.. well, it's gotta make some sound (hopefully nice).. but I'm curious, do you cruise at 1500-2000 rpm? Many exhausts are louder at the lower rpms, and besides WOT, when cruising, most good exhausts get quieter as you rev up. The more load it has, the more louder it gets. even my Ansa (which is pretty quiet) has some deep tones down low... but gets whisper quiet up top. Anyway... for now.. it's a feeler to see how many people are even interested to see Stromung make a kit for us... | | | 11-11-2011, 07:15 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: NJ Posts: 106 | As for the Remus, I highly recommend it for manual transmissions. But it's horrible for automatics. __________________ Mods: DASC, NickG Stage II DME software, 30# injectors, RRFPR removed, DISA Simulator, Secondary Air Pump relocated, bypass cooling hose removed, Fogged airbox, Bosch silver sparkplugs (F6DSR), Magnecore sparkplug wires (KV85), SeattleCircuit mpg adjuster circuit; Textar CeramicFusion brake pads; S/E/M auto trans selector with Euro software TCU; Royal Purple trans (MaxATF) & diff fluids; Koni FSD (F&R); Rogue RSMs; Strong Strut; Butt Strut; Bridgestone Fuzion ZR1 225/50/16 on Style 42's; hardtop; Footwell lighting; Interior lighting On/Off switchable; Euro intermittent wipers; Padded LeatherZ arm rests; Sisa Design Cabrio Wind Deflector; | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
