As CirrusSR22 said, it's helpful/necessary to remove the manifold if you're replacing the longer plastic fitting on the side of the block. I'm not calling you any names, it's just a bummer that this poor guy wasted a bunch of time and scratched up his hands for nothing. Hopefully the manifold goes back on easier for him, it would really suck if he dropped a tool or damaged something because he was misinformed. We're all here to offer help and ultimately save people money. For most of us, time=money Sorry if I came off as a jerk, my bad.

Jess take a chill. Nobody said to take the upper intake manifold off. Perhaps I misread one of the posts because I don't see it anywhere. trikzta said he took it off. I said that it is a good idea to replace those two gaskets.

That is pretty much all that anybody said about removing the upper intake manifold off. So, your comment is uncalled for. But I am glad we all know now that some invisible person pissed you off.

Edit: Seems like I didn't see your last post. lol, so no hard feelings

You obviously didn't see familytruckster's first post because he deleted it. It was the very first response in this thread telling the OP that he needs to remove the upper intake manifold.
