Not sure of the brand. I ditched all the Autronic stuff and went back to the stock 413 OBDI DME. Mike at Maximum PSI is using my car as a test mule. Pretty sweet if you ask me. Only problem is, I want to drive it!! It's still at his shop. It needs to be on the road for sure. Hopefully sooner rather than later. We've been having some nice fall weather lately, and I'm sure it won't be so nice come winter.. | | | 11-25-2010, 02:13 AM | #19 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Quote: Originally Posted by bubela We've been having some nice fall weather lately, and I'm sure it won't be so nice come winter.. | Road trip to the south... problem solved. __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! When you have 437whp on a Mustang, that means you automatically crash when it's 20 degrees outside and you're ridding on summer tires. ..Automatically!! That's the real reason you made it out alive with your "370whp" Though I hear a Dyno Dynamics is kinda stingy also. No? Actually, Mike just picked up another dyno. (I forget which brand, but one I'm not familiar with) I'll be back in the spring to sort out the remaining bugs. In the mean time I'm going to replace the lifters and try to seal up my oil filter housing. It's leaking a bit of oil. When it gets a little warmer.. | | | 01-06-2011, 04:57 PM | #22 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Minneapolis, MN Posts: 307 | Quote: Originally Posted by bubela Dude, Mustangs are a real mans dyno. I don't think it's as bad, but whatever, we both know the cars are fast, I mean they weigh next to nothing for a bmw, and anything over 350whp is crazy if you think about it. All I have to say though is more more more! That's life for you. What exactly happened to your car, it wasn't really talked about. PS> Feel free to ignore that last question publicly if you want. | | | 01-06-2011, 07:56 PM | #23 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | I fell asleep at a friends house, woke up, was on my way home when some guy in a Japanese car took off with me from a red light. There was a turn/corner up ahead. Dude.. honestly, I wasn't on it at all. I don't recall my throttle position, but less than 50%. Plan was to give it throttle AFTER the turn and catch up/pass. (if you could call it a "plan") It was just really freakin cold out, on summer tires, I was sleepy.. and I'm an idiot! The turbo starts to spool good around 3500 and it was enough to kick the back end around as I went through the corner. I compensated and it threw the tail around the other direction. I completely lost it and hit the curb after doing just about a full 180. The fronts went up on the driveway, so there was no curb there. Hit a fence with the front end after the left rear wheel popped the curb. Luckily I just picked up a black e36 with a good front bumper. Gona be a little more of a sleeper now, cause it's a 94 325. The fender and hood damage is minor. It will stay as a reminder. Honestly, I don't worry myself too much on how the car looks. So it just adds character! | | | 01-06-2011, 08:23 PM | #24 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2010 Location: Toronto, ON Posts: 23 | Been following your build, even before i picked up a ti and an m52...just needs boost now! How do you think the stock rods are going to hold up? I'm set on getting pistons and most likey rods, but i wanna get this motor in and boosting soooner than later! but of course done the right way... what does that 437whp equal to on a dynojet? 500+whp? If I can make 550ish whp for days i'm feeeling naughty via a TRM tune i'll be a happy camper | | | 01-06-2011, 08:51 PM | #25 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | If I stay where I'm at with 18psi 430whp, I think the rods will hold up fine. If you're shooting for (the ridiculous number of) 550whp, definitely build your motor with rods/pistons. Get some Pauter or Carrillo and call it a day. Ring the block. ARP2000's. Then boost. Yeah, my car might be around 500whp on a dynojet. Probably slightly less. Who cares though, really. It's all just silly power at these levels. | | | 01-07-2011, 05:42 AM | #26 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2010 Location: Toronto, ON Posts: 23 | Pistons/rods have already been added to the equation to get to the crazy power goal..lol. Going go with k1 rods. Gonna daily it around 14ish psi so it'll be tame most of the time. | | | 01-07-2011, 02:45 PM | #27 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | p.s. it's torque that kills rods. And I'm around 400. 400 should be able to be beaten on regularly without failure. 450, max. 500, probably pushing it. But, I hear good things about China's K1 rods. To each their own. Stock German vs Chinas best! This is all hearsay. | | | 02-15-2011, 01:39 AM | #28 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | | | | 02-15-2011, 02:41 AM | #29 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | damn.. that pulls | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
