Default Am I crazy?

Just bought my first bmw, $1200 and the body and interior are in pretty damn good shape, I think.

I can only guess the motor is shot, but im going to look into it. I bought the car with an m3 swap in mind. Motor start up but runs VERY rough. It just wants to die out. Only starred it for about 10 seconds I'll go again tomorrow and try and get a better description of what's happening. I'm not counting on the motor to be good but that would be a plus if it wasn't a costly fix, otherwise it will sit for the next 4 month while I get all the swap parts.

Any suggestions on where to start?

Known problems:
Hood release cable frozen, need to pull cable under hit to release the left clip
Driver door latch is sticky, need to move it for fire to close properly
Passenger side rear seat, latch is frozen, will not lock into place

Well it runs! But like complete crap.
Where should I start, compression test? Spark? Idle control valve?

Seems to not shake the whole car once it's reved up a little to about 3000 rpm. Seems like I really really bad misfire bit I'm no expert.
