Default Windscreen washer problem

So my e36 318ti cooked up this problem for me now.

Couple of months ago the washer stopped working, and i prettymuch didn't think anything of it, and went and bought a new pump, which worked just fine ...until couple of days ago, when i really could have of needed it to work.
So i got "a bit" frustrated and noticed first symptom, the washer works intermittendly, when you keep on yanking the switch long enough, but only now and then, mostly not working at all.

So i took the pump out, and connected it directly to 12vDC, and it sure enough came to life... Next i thought, the problem has to be in the connector, wrong! When i grounded the negative connection on the plug, the wipers started operating (as they should) and i tested the positive connector with a probe pen (i think it is called that) there was a current.

So now i am at a loss, any good ideas are appreciated.

A bit background on the car, the previous owner had not used the car over the last winter, and had in in his garage, so that could cause some contact problems, but where?

Its real common for the washer nozzles to plug up with soap, they are heated and boil dry when your driving down the road..

But surely in that case, the pump motor would work, when connected to the car? That's what is really puzzling me.

Test the switch, maybe?
