Yep, my son spun it & tagged the passenger side (nose & tail) on a guard-rail. He's a new driver & old Dad understands these things (he's okay & could have been MUCH worse)... but now I need some parts advice. I need a passenger (right) headlamp, Right/Front turn signal assy.(e36 sedan right?), Right Grill & a Grill Panel. I'm in Kentucky. Any suggestions on new or used (salvage) parts? Thanks Brothers & Sisters! | | | 10-02-2006, 07:04 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | Get euro ellipsoid headlights (about 200$, but theyre projectors and glass lensed)...nice upgrade. Im pretty sure if you want the amber turn signals, just post a WTB thread and yes e36 sedan, im pretty sure many people have them from changing over to clear corners. Kidneys and Kidney panel you may be able to find in the junkyard or you can go on Rockauto.com or Ebay and get some cheap. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 10-02-2006, 07:16 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: West Kentucky Posts: 18 | Much Thanks Bluebimma. One more thing...is the "Kidney Panel" & "Grill Panel" the same part? I'm talking about the panel that runs beneath the Kidneys, not the one they're mounted into. Oh, and who's a good salvage yard here in the heartland? I appreciate your quick response, this is a GREAT forum. | | | 10-02-2006, 07:19 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...1&fg=10&hl=156 From this diagram, what do you need? Not sure about the salvage yards near you though, sorry. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 10-02-2006, 07:43 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | I did it on run-flat in the ran come down off a overpass. I braked and the back flipped around and sent me into the rail 180 degrees from where i started, walked away without a scratch. Did a rail imprint nose to tail on the 97 though. Got her back and parted her out to people in need of stuff. Since I found it a PITA to find Ti parts locally. | | | 10-02-2006, 08:48 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: West Kentucky Posts: 18 | Yep, just like you said...it's the front panel I need. Aren't they the same on all e36 models? I've called Masseys in Millington (Memphis) TN, Hawkins in Mayfield KY, Keys in Murray KY, Harpers in Fredonia KY, Hicks in Paducah KY, Universal in Benton KY & Hickman in Hickman KY. No luck. You would think I was asking for eel's knees or something! | | | 10-02-2006, 08:53 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | They vary between the years in looks, but any e36 sedan front panel will work with matching kidneys. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 10-02-2006, 10:55 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: SOUTH Jersey Posts: 1,085 | I know for a fact he has the nose panel still.. check with him, I have bought several parts off of him and he is legit. http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11347 Also, tail lights are TI specific while the front lights are sedan or Ti | | | 10-02-2006, 11:00 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: Northern Michigan Posts: 867 | I will have an extra passenger headlamp and bracket shortly. He only wanted my drivers side helmet, but I only wanted to ship them as a set (what were the chances that someone was going to want just a passenger side headlamp?) Marlymon: Don't do something mean and resell the passenger headlamp for more than shipping now, ya hear? =) __________________ | | | 10-04-2006, 04:30 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Tampa, FL Posts: 677 | i have 2 headlights both sides i was thinking about selling, they are in perfect condition, only one side lense started to show a little fog but not that actual cover itself. Wish I could help, anyway best of luck DND Quote: Originally Posted by ridgerunner Yep, my son spun it & tagged the passenger side (nose & tail) on a guard-rail. Things are karma-cool. Luckily when my boy did his "Danny Sullivan" (anybody old enough to remember?) there wasn't anyone else involved so no "accident report" = no insurance increase. We'll just pay the tab out of Dad's wallet. Oh well, the WRX engine swap in my 916 clone will have to wait a while (we have a pretty cool garage). Thanks to all for their help!!! | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
