Default Fun with a rattle can!

Had some fun with a rattle can this weekend... got sick of a 2 tone car with a crooked grill support, so I gave it a world.

Knew it wasn't gonna come out perfect (or even close to it)... but for 60 bucks worth of paint (& the fun factor), it was a blast. Car's theme is 'rat styles' & 'all motor' anyways!

It was all good & seemed too easy while applying the base coat - however it all went downhill once the clear was introduced into the equation. Looks good from far away - but when you get close, you can see it running... oh well, cheap fun.

All in all, I'm happy its at least in ONE color, now!

Enjoy!

are you sure you didn't mix it up with that Sam Adams? doesn't look too bad for a DIY, doesn't even show up in the pics

Ha, funny.. just had one beer.

No, it dont look too bad from a few feet away, but when you get close you can see some parts of the bumper which are 'shinier' than others. Grill support came out very well - I guess cause it was a smaller area (& the wind was not as strong).

Give yourself some credit on the paint job! Doesn't look bad at all.

bumper has 6 small plastic studs, while the mesh center piece has corresponding holes.. unfortunately, all but 2 broke off since it is an Ebay replacement & off course the mesh piece does not fit the opening on the bumper.. therefore right now it is being held by epoxy & gorilla tape.

I'll take pics... also of the car when I put it together & wash it next weekend.

thanks man... will look even better after I wet sand it off a bit, & maybe re-apply a thinner, more even, coat.

unfortunately, my work is kicking my ass these days, so week days & nights are shot for me... BUT, if you ever decide to do it over a weekend, I'm in. We can go get a beer or some... let me know, you got my cell, right?

We can get Pat to come out too.. with his little bad ass ti.
