I also got a 3 farad cap from stinger. anyway today i spent about an hour trying to figure out the best place to run the power cable back to the trunk for the amps. first thing i did was take out the battery and pull off the battery box. then i went inside and pulled out the glove box and the lower parts of the dash and the cover for the front speaker on the right side so i could get a good look at where would be a good place to drill. I went on both sides and kept looking for somewhere suitable but didn't like any of those options. next i pulled off the rubber sheild that is right behind the battery box and i opened up the compartment behind it where what i think is the ECU is stored. I looked around in their and saw it. towards the back of the compartment there is a hole about 3/4 of an inch in diameter so i started feeding the wire through and after i had about 2 feet stuffed in the hole i went inside the car to see if i could find where it came through. not there. next i popped off the speaker and put my hand up the inside of that space and there it was. i pulled it back out drilled a hole in the compartments front cover and cut a circle chunk from the rubber sheild and I was money. I hope this helps somebody. I know if i had this before i started it would have saved me about 2 hours. good luck | | | 12-14-2005, 01:58 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: cary, nc Posts: 2,259 | ahh nice. i ran mine by the fuse box...nice to know theres another option out there! __________________ 1995 318ti Active Pioneer Speakers [] Aluminum Billet door locks [] ACS Pedals/Deadrest [] ACS Shift Knob / E-Brake Handle [] Clear Corners/Tails/Sides [] Sylvania Exterior Lighting [] Custom CAI [] Dinan Engine Chip [] Dinan Transmission Chip [] H&R Race Springs [] Tokico Illumina Shocks [] BMW X-Brace [] Relocated Lighter Mod [] Custom iPod Mod http://www.cardomain.com/id/robcarync | | | 12-14-2005, 07:41 AM | #3 | Member Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Mainz, Germany Posts: 30 | i forgot to mention that my battery is on the passenger side of the engine compartment so if yours is on the drivers side it might not be very practical | | | 12-14-2005, 02:19 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: cary, nc Posts: 2,259 | yeah my battery is on the passenger side, but i ran my power cable along the back of the engine bay and through the fuse box area. good job on the find! __________________ 1995 318ti Active Pioneer Speakers [] Aluminum Billet door locks [] ACS Pedals/Deadrest [] ACS Shift Knob / E-Brake Handle [] Clear Corners/Tails/Sides [] Sylvania Exterior Lighting [] Custom CAI [] Dinan Engine Chip [] Dinan Transmission Chip [] H&R Race Springs [] Tokico Illumina Shocks [] BMW X-Brace [] Relocated Lighter Mod [] Custom iPod Mod http://www.cardomain.com/id/robcarync | | | 12-14-2005, 05:51 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Puerto Rico Posts: 885 | OK, YESTERDAY A INSTALL MY MUSIC, AND HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, LOOK INTO YHE MOTOR COMPARTMEN, IN THE DRIVER SIDE, BACK TO THE BRAKE BOSTER,,, BUT IS MORE EASY FROM IN TO OUT, UP TO THE CLUTH PEDAL IS A 1" HOLE THAT TAKE ACCES TO THE MOTOR , THEN PASS THE CABLE INTO THE CABLES CASE BACK IN THE MOTOR AND CONECT IT IN THE BATERIE( SORRY ABOUT MY ENGLISH, I'M FROM PUERTO RICO.. It keeps the page readable. You can also use a free image hosting site like imageshack, photobucket, or flickr. There are tons out there. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 12-25-2005, 09:00 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Puerto Rico Posts: 885 | The Pictures __________________ BMW...MY NEW TOY Mods: Some plastic parts, ///M Wheels and me | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
