I haven't been able to find any other cases of this happening so I thought it was pretty strange obviously this is a pretty expensive part so I'm going to attempt to JB Weld it. I don't like doing half assed fixes but if it can save me $300 it's worth a shot | | | 08-30-2012, 04:32 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Buy a new one or JB weld that sucker back together. On my car the boost blows the ICV apart over 15psi so I JB welded it back together and used a metal zip lock to reinforce it. That was 2 years ago and it runs perrfect. | | | 08-30-2012, 06:22 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: South Central, MN Posts: 1,065 | I might have one laying around. If I do, you can have it. __________________ | | | 08-30-2012, 07:13 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | APW has Bosch ICV's for about $155, after 15% discount. ('saveup15' coupon code) When I changed my ICV earlier this year, it had a few stress cracks, but my problem was a stuck valve, not the cracks. It idled fine but made an annoying whistling sound at idle. | | | 09-02-2012, 12:19 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by Mr.Squeelerz I might have one laying around. It's amazing how good that stuff works and if you're careful with the application it's a clean, professional fix too. Good Luck with it. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
