Default The M43 Engine Query....

This is from Wilkepedia about the 316i Compact sure plenty have read it before...

M43B19
The 1.9 L (1895cc) M43B19 was the largest M43 engine. It produced 87 kW (117 hp) and 180 N·m (133 ft·lbf) or 77 kW (103 hp) and 165 N·m (122 ft·lbf). It used BMW BMS 46 fuel injection.

It's also known as M43 TÜ engine. It had twin-balancing shafts.

Applications:

87 kW (117 hp) and 180 N·m (133 ft·lbf)
-2001 E46 318i/318Ci
1998-2001 E36 Z3 1.8/Z3 1.9i

77 kW (103 hp) and 165 N·m (122 ft·lbf)
1999-2000 E36 316i compact
1998-2001 E46 316i

Now the 316i 103hp is mine which is a BMW 316i 2000 model, now how do i not get the 117hp out of the same engine what is the difference in setup here i know its a 8 valver with 1x cams can i not get a extra cam fitted LOL

I have a Chipped ECU on the way and am getting the car put in for a tune-up soon what kind of performance increase am i looking at... this is coupled with a SS Magnex cat back system (already fitted) any idea's on what bhp ill be looking at.

I know its more like 2x questions but im making this into a project of mine to mod my 316 as dont want to swap out my engine as has just hit 69k - and im going to make the most of the engine i have.

Opinions appreciated.

**Edit**

Anyone know or has done this...

Has any body added a supercharger (Eaton M45) for BMW Mini Cooper S to a M43,M44 compact engine i know there is superchargers that can be added to a compact just wondering if this is actually any good, and can this be done any ideas or opinions of people who have done this bearing in mind i dont want to do an engine swap...

Hi mate, did you have any luck in tuning the engine at all?
I dont know if anyone else can help me out on this but i have a 2000 316ti M43 1900cc, does anyone know if it is anything fairly simple which can step the bhp up as this engine is restricted, like a chip etc? Thanks.
