And curious what was the shipping cost? | | | 11-22-2010, 02:35 PM | #32 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | You can get the parts from any US dealer, directbmwparts.com has the lifters for ~$50. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 11-22-2010, 06:40 PM | #33 | Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: Florida Posts: 90 | Yes but they have to order them from Germany and you pay for shipping. | | | 12-27-2010, 06:19 AM | #34 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Rocky Hill, CT Posts: 1,065 | Quote: Originally Posted by spidertri You can get the parts from any US dealer, directbmwparts.com has the lifters for ~$50. | FWIW the set for one side is $30 cheaper on direct than pelican, but it doesn't show the shipping costs. I'm going to call direct tomorrow to find out how much shipping would be, I'd be ordering it now if they just told me I figure it can't be more than $30 __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. Just so you guys know, if you order from Pelican you better not be in a rush. It took around 6 weeks for the parts to get to me from Europe. I wasn't too upset since it's winter and I don't use the windows anyway, but I figured I should point that out __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. I bet the regulators w'motor doesn't weight that much more than the euro w'out. Still I would like to do it for the simplicity. | | | 03-04-2011, 06:16 PM | #38 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Rocky Hill, CT Posts: 1,065 | Quote: Originally Posted by 318RS If you could, make sure to weight everything? Probably won't be too accurate, but better than nothing __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. S50 cams+pistons, e36 M3 front brakes. H&R race springs F+R. Works perfectly, and I can open my window again Bolts right in too. only uses two different holes already in the door, and the hole is already marked in the door panel. Bigger regulator is the power one. By budget76 at 2011-03-04 Marked hole in door panel to drill out. By budget76 at 2011-03-04 Completed install: By budget76 at 2011-03-04 Now, weight results. My postal scale only went up to 2lbs, couldn't find the bigger one. Manual regulator: around 2.5lbs, the scale could almost hold it but not quite. Power Regulator: I'd guess around 3.25lbs, I'll post up a true number if I find the other scale Power motor: 1.75lbs Manual handle and pieces: less than 1/8 lb. So you DO save a couple pounds, figure more if you chop out all the necessary wires out of the car. __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. S50 cams+pistons, e36 M3 front brakes. Only thing I found is if you're tall (I'm 6'2"), and the crank is in the wrong position, you'll hit it with your leg. I typically rest my knee against the door vs putting my foot on the dead pedal when driving. Very easy fix though, just turn it 1/2 a rotation and fixed __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. S50 cams+pistons, e36 M3 front brakes. H&R race springs F+R. I'm building a new TI with the parts from my old one, and it'll be getting converted to manual since the new one, of course, has the bent regulator and **** grease issue. I like working windows, and the manual swap makes that easier __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. S50 cams+pistons, e36 M3 front brakes. H&R race springs F+R. What was your total cost on it? | | | 04-12-2013, 07:24 PM | #45 | Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: Florida Posts: 90 | While I plan on doing this as part of my next phase of weight reduction, I think the problem can be remedied by thoroughly cleaning the factory grease out and applying some Wurth grease before it binds up to begin with. Stay away from lithium grease! | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
