Exclamation antivirus program needed ASAP

got some really bad virus and spyware from a website, I've run Norton with no effect, I'm trying Ad-Aware now buy I don't have a lot of faith in that program, anyone know of any free, effective antivirus/spyware programs that can be downloaded for free?

ad-aware has managed too find 8 of the 27 "critical objects" I know are on the computer, the scan is still running but I doubt it'll find them all, I seriously need some help here

Sometimes is not that easy to clean it. It's more than just running a scan with any antivirus software. I do this every day and believe me it's a hard thing and sometime takes me few hours depending of the virus

avast didn't work either, I ran Spyware Doctor, which I downloaded the free version of but it won't delete the viruses and spyware without me buying the full version of the program, fcuking bullsh!t

1. Go to save mode without networking (press F8 when booting)
2. disable system restore
3. use 'cleanup!' to clean the temp internet files
4. use 'hijackthis' but be careful what do you delete, if you don't know don't touch or you can damage windows
5. open c:\windows folder and order the files by date, look at the latest files for suspicious .exe and .dll files and delete them, be careful if you don't know better don't touch or you can damage windows
6. open c:windows\system32 folder do the same as step 5
7. scan with spybot search and destroy
8. scan with adaware
9. restart in normal windows mode
10. scan for viruses with any antivirus software

If you still cannot clean it, send it to me and I'll take care of it http://www.elitex.net

there is a reason the latest/greatest/most up to date costs money. Go sell your stash and buy something!

I use trendmicro (there is a free scan link on the testmy.net page above) and my company uses CA Anti Virus. I run ccleaner everyday to get rid of internet stuff.

it's not that I don't have the money, I would just have to use my moms credit card so she would find out, and I'm trying to keep her in the dark that I put another virus on the computer, and I'm trying trendmicro now

Agree with Josh. Information on the link he posted is great. For antivirus, I use AVG Free.

BTW, what exactly happened? You simply say you got a bad virus/spyware from a website. Which virus/spyware? From what website? The more info we have the easier it is to help and give advice.
