I once looked into fooling the fuel consumption gauge into reading out oil pressure. I thought you might be able to do that by monitoring the engine rpm and road speed signals and then feeding the cluster an appropriate, synthetic injection time. 400 to 450 miles per tank????? u having a laugh?? wot u running ur car on!! Even when I drive "spiritedly" I can get 375 easy out of a tank. hummm fool the octane level is in fact directly linked to the milage..all u gotta do is spend 5 sec thinking about how an engine works and then u'll realise it does!! Or just log onto a petrol website and read about it...... As for the tune up my cars fully bm serviced from day 1..how odd!! I hit about 400 +/- 25 per tank too. Octane is measured differently in the USA and the rest of the world. Octane numbers are lower here for the same "real octane" quantity of gas. ie. 93 octane in the US is about 98-99 octane in the UK. When I fill up, I look and see how far I drove. As far as calculating mileage, when i fillup, I use how many gallons it took/trip odometer reading. it's not 100% accurate because I never get the tank filled to exactly the previous starting point but it is damn close. i find 97 gives me a better yield than 95 but 95 and 92 actually work out the same  combustion/ burn efficience on higher octane fuels directly relates to performance outputs. its proven __________________

at least it aint just me than!! Sorry to say but i think 400-450 is wishfull thinking or someones reading the wrong gauge!! oakley; what's the full (including reserve) tank capacity for the UK/EU ti? It may differ from the version we get.
To get a better estimate of gas mileage, read your odometer and calculate that against the fuel you've just added, rather than what you think you've burned based on the needle position. Gets more accurate when you use the same pump. __________________
