Default side skirts

if i want to add the mtech side skirts to my 1995 318ti. do i just drill into the exsisting sides or do i need to remove them. they appear to be welded to the frame/body of the car.

thanks

my slides attach to the car via plastic clips. If you feel around the edges of the skirt where it mounts to the car, you should see space to wedge a screw driver and try to get them off. I believe this website has some info about installing side skirts: http://www.bimmerdiy.com/

I would not use a screwdriver because you might scratch the paint. I used a plastic paint stirrer to get mine started. They pop right off and the new ones pop right in over the existing holes. It looks like they won't fit but they will.

I think you have to snap it on, but I will get back to you once I get a look at a set of m3 sideskirts.

The 95 side skirts are attached to the car and the 97+ or the OBDII models have clip on side skirts. So basically get the side skirts and they should come with clips to mount on top of the stock side skirt.

I guess that could be an issue if you're planning on selling the old skirts. . . but the things are plastic, you should not need to apply enough force to scratch them to get started on removing it.
