Default Targa racing

I saw Targa Newfoundland racing on the speed channel this weekend. Looks like a blast. Is anyone planning to race this in 2007?
I think we should all chip in a couple bucks each to "sponser" a 318ti.org car.

Now, who wants to drive their car so we can all see ti's on tv again!

Yeah that has been a dream of mine for a long time to do that with my car. It is currently heading that direction. I spent the greater part of the evening cutting out the excess wiring and removing some sound deadening behind the dash. Pretty much all that is left would be sorting out the suspension set-up, installing camber plates, NT01 tires, and getting the cage welded in this summer. I already am sporting the big 318ti.org vinyl

The roads look pretty similar to the roads around here in terms of how bad they are so I already have a lot of experience driving the car on something like that and the combination of the aluminum bushings and the coil-overs on the car handle them quite well. It is not too stiff and not too soft. As for power keeping a stock internal engine would definately be the ticket judging by all of the equipment failures during the rally. A nice ITB set-up would be about the most power adding the car would need in addition to the engine/drivetrain modifications the car already has. Maybe a Zionsville Autosport aluminum radiator to keep things from getting too hot. The braking front is already taken care of with Zionsville Autosport +2 kit and that is plenty of brakes to stop a car that weighs around 2300 lbs at the moment.

I guess now it is time for S10Mafia to get some seat time navigating me through some TSD rallies for some practice.

If anyone would seriously like to support the car in an event like this as the time draws near that would be really awesome. It would be pretty cool if you could offer the support and in exchange you could 'autograph' the car by sending us a vinyl replica of your signature I could put on the car, but that is a ways away in the future.

The other thing that would be great to do with the 318ti is to try and help support a great local charity for Riley's Hospital for Children. A friend of mine sponsors a big car show/race then donates all the money raised to the Children's hospital. One of the favorite parts of that is that he brought has car over to the children's hospital and had the kid's sign the car. The kids absolutely loved being able to see his 'race' car and it really brought some joy into their lives. This is the link http://www.wingedwarrior.net/gallery3/index.html

Yep evo 8 with a ton of mods done to it. It is extremely cool and what he does for the kids is even cooler.

dude, Targa NF rules! I actually printed out all the rules and regulations from website below at some point in the past, cause I was under the mistaken impression that the missus would approve - even if only in a non-competitive form ('exotic vacation' I believe was the spin) - but no go!

anyway, it is really cool stuf & I try to catch the highlights when available..

I'd love to just participate in the rally.

I'll do it one day!

We could have a ti meet at Targa Newfoundland. Now that would be cool.
