I don't need a $200 bar. __________________ -Jeff | | | 11-06-2008, 02:07 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | the ones that say only 6-cyl. or all models won't fit, the M42/44 sits higher than the 6-cyl. so the bars have to be different | | | 11-06-2008, 02:32 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | I think Hugo and somebody else were trying to get a 4 point 4cylinder strut bar made... I would imagine if his car is swapped now, that may be why that never happened. | | | 11-06-2008, 12:11 PM | #6 | Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Northern California Posts: 85 | Mason Engine--- fits... | | | 11-06-2008, 03:43 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | so, does anyone know about the Cosmo Racing strut bar? I know it's cheap but I was wondering how well it fit and if it's any good | | | 11-06-2008, 08:44 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Halethorpe, MD Posts: 1,028 | Quote: Originally Posted by S52Commander Mason Engine--- fits... | +1 on the Mason stuff. I find that hard to believe, since every other bar goes near the firewall with that angle. | | | 11-07-2008, 04:40 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Halethorpe, MD Posts: 1,028 | It fits on the e30 with the M42. I've had one on mine for about a year now. As long as you order the one that doesn't say "not available for 318 model" you should be fine. I doubt it does a lot to stiffen things, but it does re-enforce the strut towers, so to me, that's worth it. | | | 11-07-2008, 07:49 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Halethorpe, MD Posts: 1,028 | Mine is an OMP. I don't know if they're available anymore but it's pretty nice. It's a three piece design and allows for adjustment if necessary. The part number is MA 1745 and it shows up on their main site, but not the US site. | | | 11-07-2008, 11:42 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Hawaii Kai Posts: 232 | Quote: Originally Posted by bullmand It fits on the e30 with the M42. I believe that is the first, "good" front strut bar that fits the 318 models. Most of the straight designs don't allow enough clearence to close the hood. I might have to look into this one someday. Have any pics of it on your 318? | | | 11-08-2008, 11:13 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Halethorpe, MD Posts: 1,028 | | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
