Ya I'm pretty happy with how the paint job came out with painted emblems.

Now for a quick update,

I found THIS for my little sister:

First car for her, and best twenty five hundred spent IMO. Only two owners with maintenance records and has no problems, very clean!

Of course I'm going to be benefiting from this too ....

This is where I'm gunna get: xbrace, 3.46 LSD (clutch type), short ratio steering rack, sway bars (gotta confirm the size though to see if it is better), and a shorter shift. Its not like she needs it anyway.

Other then that I got some fluids still to replace - tranny, diff, coolant and some bushings to repair, and I think a few seals to replace too. I think that plus, z3 parts will make it pretty fun. I wonder how ASC+T and LSD will work out apparently only 95 m3 came with both ? Anyways, fun stuff!
Hella good price for a sporty little Z3!

Ya I could hardly believe it, even now if I walk out and see it sitting in the driveway I have to look twice. Kinda jealous

Actually next weekend I'll be busy but the weekend after that should be fine. As for the hard top I will be very interested in hearing more.

You certainly got your money's worth from the $200 paint job.

Good old Craigslist - I'll have to dig to see if I can find a number or anything though.

Still interested!!!

So a lot has happened in the last month. First, somehow I got a little bit to close to the curb decided to back up and somehow tore off my whole front bumper... I have no idea how. But so for a while I drove with no front bumper, decided

I cant really afford a new bumper so got some zip ties and the following pics show the results.

Damage (worse then in the pic, it almost tore the bumper in half):

No bumper:

Fixed:

How it looks on the car (I put the license plate there to cover up most of the zip tie stitches):

On the last picture you can see that the car is on a tow truck, that is due to the part of the crap that happened after the bumper incident. So I'm taking a late night cruise in the canyon and noticed a lack of power, my temps seem fine and my lights arn't dimming or anything, so I pull over and just visually look in the engine bay and it all looks good. So I hop in and keep driving. After a while the car completely dies! Anyway so I'm stuck in the canyon for the night with no cell signal and temp is low 40's. Eventually the following day I get a ride to where there is reception, get it towed home. (By the time the tow truck came it was 12hrs after initial being stuck). Spark seems fine as I tested the battery and it was good, replaced spark plugs too, thought it might be fuel, replaced the fuel filter, went to autozone to rent a fuel pressure gauge, that seemed fine, took apart the intake manifold trying to find a leak or anything - took out the 02 pump and took the top off and put it back - it was whining so it needed fixing anyway, check my o2 sensors, MAF sensor, changed air filter, etc etc, Finally did a compression test with all cylinders at around 150 so the engine seemed very healthy, by this time i was frustrated as spark fuel was good and air seemed fine too. - Btw this is over the course of a few days, and I need my car as its my daily so I was getting desperate. I did hear a little coming from what seemed to be the cat so I took out the mid section. Once out it had grayish stuff that started to fall out... apparently a little dent in the cat done by a rock had caused enough of the sponge stuff to break loose in the cat that it was clogging the exhaust. I can't afford a new cat currently so I gutted it and now it runs great!

Now to end on a good note:

Picked this up today I was going to stick with the M44 but if you find a m52 for 100 you won't complain either! Everything seems to be in working condition! Just gotta freshen it up a little with new gaskets and what not and it will be good to go!

But this won't be going in till summer or something when I can have the car down for a while.

Ya it does suck, it hasn't even been long after getting it done too. But thanks for the support!

Well the bad just got worse. I start hearing a clanking sound from my rear passenger side. But I have to get where I need to go, so I drive the 210,15,60,215 freeways - and back on this:

The shock isn't even attached anymore!!! And the first pic shows a bit of the damage on the shock.

Time to work on it again, my ti seems really to want a lot of attention.

Yup!

Here it is:

I decided also to do it on the other side to be safe.

Better be safe then sorry. I do drive in the canyon once in a while - comparable to autox I guess, so it does endure more stress then just being a daily.

When I replaced my PS hose, nobody told me that BMW's don't use normal PS fluid but instead use ATF fluid. BLah, nub mistake for me.

Also tried a little trick my friend told me about which is using ATF instead of normal oil for the motor (NOT TO DRIVE!), let it idle till warm - don't rev! - and once warm drain it out and replace with normal oil again. Apparently ATF has some kind of detergent that helps clean up gunk. When i just did it today the engine did feel smoother... but that also may be due to just having new oil afterwards
