Default I am looking to buy a 1993 bmw 318is

Hello forums i have a quick question
There is a local 1993 318is for sale by my home
Visually its not pleasing(it doesn't need to be pretty)
but mechanically it has some more issues
the current owner and i have met and she has told me it has a short in the ignition witch drains the power out of the battery so it needs a jump to start and will idle for about 3 mins before it dies
does this seem like a possible alternator problem?
the car has originally 69,000 miles and aside from rust, cracked windshield, destroyed and no radio its.... a pos at best
Do you think its worth the grand they want??

Interior lights work?
Door chime works?
Warning lights work?
Not sure why she says it's the ignition switch.

You can always offer them $500 and tell them they will never have to see it again
