Still haven't decided to install it or not. Further down my project list.
I found a nice reproduction piece on e-bay from a company in Dallas, Texas. Fiberglass, primed and sanded for about $150 if I remember right. No emblem, however. I haven't installed it yet. John

You can get the spoiler from getbmwparts.com for $230. I want to get one when I finally get around to my engine swap

Not really, sadly...
The Compact didn't have that option available at all, not even in Germany. They have the preparation for it, but it never sold with this body form. All the other body forms had that option available, but just very few people bought it back in the days, so it's something quite rare, too
(but I've tried it and believe me, the tilt is SO minimal, that I wouldn't have spent any extra cash for it either back in the days )

I believe Strawman on this forum was going to install this into his TI. He had found an E36 with the tilt steering column last time I saw him. Perhaps he's done it by now and can comment.

You parallel park your car and swear you are about to hit the car behind you, but come out to find 1/2 a car's space still available

You go out for day with the family and swear you need a pick up for all the equipment but somehow it fits in the little hatch

When your check engine light comes on continuously because your cat converter has failed and the passenger side seatbelt tensioner cause the airbag light to come on everytime the kids push the seat to far.

Those wanting a tilt steering and are in western Mass, I got rid of my early e36 andit had tilt wheel.

--when you don't mind a 90 minute (one-way) commute because you cross two mountains, and then actively miss it once you move closer to work.

This has been an awesome thread! I needed the laughs as my poor 318ti has been down since early August (lack of time and funds) and we've recently confirmed that the head gasket needs replacing (and the valves to be checked too).

Noticed you're from Sonoma County I wonder if I've seen you around! Head over to the California section of the forum, maybe we'll see you at a meet someday?

I have never had my car legal in the 2 years I have had it. I have never been looked at twice by a cop either!

SO many minor issues with the car can be fixed with just a little tape, silicon or zip-ties.

I just replaced the hatch shocks on mine. I am so glad to NOT have to use my head anymore! Downside, it is harder to shut it now! lmao

You know you have a ti when it is mistaken for a Civic at quick glance.
Months I walked past this car before I bought it. Never knew it was a ti until the day I bought it! lol

That's another thing that has not been back onto my car. Both door panels are sitting in the garage. Senseless to replace them until everything else is fixed.

You know you own a ti when the door locks jam up causing you to crawl in through the hatch.

...when to consider attaching the door cards with self tapping sheet metal screws.
