I just bought it and am having the hardest time finding it's edition (active, club, etc). Any help would be great! Thanks, Clint | | | 08-11-2003, 12:48 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | A Sport would have 16" wheels and M-technic trim. Base would normally have steel wheels. A 95 Club Sport would be Black or Red with M3 mirrors. Do you have cruise and computer? Then I would guess it is an active. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 08-11-2003, 06:23 PM | #3 | Guest | Yes I do have cruise control and the computer unit! The lower body trim is also gray, along with the lower portion of the bumper. So is it an active? Thanks, Clint | | | 08-12-2003, 01:30 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Yep. It's an active. 318ti [US] All All Compacts came standard with All Season Traction Control starting sometime in 1996. Engine-speed-sensitive power steering. Heated windshield washers and door mirrors. Body-colored bumpers and side skirts started in 199x. Rear window wiper. Anti-theft AM/FM stereo/cassette audio system, pre-wired for CD. 10x20 watt amplifier (at 10% total harmonic distortion) with 10-speaker sound system. Tachometer. Driver and passenger seat height adjustment. Split fold-down rear seats. Power windows with "one-touch" feature. Air conditioning with micro-filtered ventilation system. Cup holders and console valet. Anti-lock braking system (ABS). Driver’s and passenger’s front airbag supplemental restraint system (SRS) with differentiated deployment system to help prevent unnecessary passenger’s airbag deployment. Central locking system with switch in center console. Coded Driveaway Protection (prevents engine start when special key with constantly changing electronic code is not used) Automatic front belt tensioners. Crash sensor that automatically turns on hazard lights, interior lights and unlocks doors. BMW Scheduled Maintenance. Base 15" steel wheels with cover. All season tires. Cloth seats. Active The Active package included, electric sunroof, 15" sport alloy wheels with 205/60R all-season tires, leather steering wheel and shift knob, cruise control, on-board computer, remote keyless entry system and alarm, metallic paint. Sport In 1995 the Sport had the same 15" wheels and tires as the active and did not have body colored sidevie mirrors. Only the 1995 Club Sport had 16" wheels which later became standard. Starting in 1996 the Sport packaged included, 16" sport alloy wheels with 225/50 ZR high-performance tires, leather steering wheel and shift knob, sport suspension, sport seats, sport cloth/leather upholstery, fog lights, M-technic body-colored bumpers and side skirts. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 08-12-2003, 05:09 AM | #5 | Guest | Thanks for the info! I just saw the front sway bar tonight while working on it, whew! It keeps getting better. The only problem is that this thing sits as high as a 4X4. I have never owned a stock ride height car and don't intend to break that commitment. Any suggestions on springs? Thanks again! I know that there's base, sport, clubsport, and active... Is there a California package (separate from the other ones mentioned), or was the cali roof just an option? I know that it was an option, but I was wondering if there was a package... Recently I've been thinking about that top haha... (Hopefully this hasn't been discussed before and sorry for hijacking if it is...) -Randy __________________ 97 Jet Black 318ti Sport. Not so stock anymore!.... By 98 it was available as an option. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 05-30-2006, 03:42 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Long Beach area Posts: 1,189 | o00o gotcha...thanks!
