Default Fixed Shorted A/C Clutch Coil...

21SEP2014: @166K Miles the 7.5 Amp Fuse (No. 39) for the AC Compressor (Seiko Seiki SS96D1) was blown such that the AC Compressor wouldn’t engage. I replaced it with a 10 Amp Fuse and cool air blew from the AC vents again...must have been an intermittent short to ground somewhere?

29SEP2014 - Fuse (No. 39) for the AC Compressor was blown again…I measured the resistance between Terminal 87 of the Compressor Control Relay (K19) and Ground and it was close to zero Ohms. The Compressor Clutch Coil seems to be a dead short to ground.

18OCT2014 - I removed the AC Compressor Pulley (Bolt and Snap-Ring) and pulled off the Clutch Coil (Snap-Ring). The Coil body was filthy so I cleaned it and then measured the DC Resistance between the single wire and case: 4.3 Ohms....hmmmm...seems good.

I reinstalled the Clutch Coil and also made a by-pass wire circuit around the connector on the Compressor in case it was shorted somewhere down there in the grimy dark recesses. After re-installing the AC Compressor Pulley I tried the AC and it works!!!...cool air again.
