Default 12 cylinder swap...

So I just donated my M44 to my cousin in hopes of starting a new project. I recently did an M50 swap so I have some experience. I am pretty seriously contemplating a 5.4L 12 cylinder swap. From what I have read, since they are ecentially 2 inline 6 cyl next to one another they will fit, but I want to know if anyone else can offer any other help.

I would suggest going Chevy LS engine series vs M70 only because these getting quite old. Chevy LS fit fine and are very durable and with proper gearing can be good on fuel and quite quick. They are also inexpensive.

I would like to keep the BMW...BMW...not to mention the wow factor. Instead of the m70 I would go with the m73. I was just wondering if anyone had any other info then the pics off the AKG Motorsport - Website

Racing Dynamics built a V12 ti many years ago... I like the idea but I would be worried about weight. I like the idea of an M62 or S62 in a ti!

I've seen a few V12 E30 swaps too. Can't be too hard.

Hey would you ever want a 12? I wouldn't even go past 8 if that. 6 + turbo and etc is my best opinion.

This is me in Bob's 6 turbo swap ti

Now that Bob got the turbo sorted maybe he can put his radio back in.

The M73 is an all aluminum block...not took much heavier then an S52...with a mcoupe sub frame and relocating the battery in the rear shouldn't be that far off 50/50

IMO LSx is the way to go bang for buck and it's a nice looking engine. Has fancy plastic shrouds like all the newer BMW engines and is much lighter in fact.

I know the m70 is a direct bolt in. As far as the trans and drive shaft. Well thats not so easy. Plus with the massive torque, you will need to reinforce the crap out of the rear of the car. A guy in Germany did the swap and if you search google im sure you will come up with it. It is a silver ti. Now for the M73. No clue. Im sure the fitment would be fine, but once again. Trans, drive shaft, and now electronics. <___ that will be the biggest issues you will run into.
The 12 swap is not the most economical swap. Not sure why you would wanna be able to pull a boat around with a ti, but what ev's. Any thing is possible.

Hey goys, do you know anything about akgmotorsports? Are they that reliable, as they say on the website? May be I can check them out for swap pricing.

So you've done something with them? Do you know somebody that did a swap over there?
