Default 2008 Bimmerfest

It is announced that this year Bimmerfest will be held May 3rd, 2008. It will be in Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara.

I want the ENTIRE SoCal crew to go to this event. You have 3 months to get this day off. We MUST go and represent the Ti's, Team, and the .org

We will take our shirts, we will have our stickers done, and hopefully harold can get the banner. If possible, we should all pitch in for a canopy.

I want everyone to go. No excuse. No buts. No maybes. No ifs. NO BULLSH!T. This goes out to you too garik.

This is the biggest BMW meet that goes on in California.

We will have to get things set up perfectly. We must meet up at the same time. We must leave at the same time. We must all be there and park together at the same time.

It doesn't need park distance control, and hates decadence. It is musclepacked, yet lightly wound. It lets you feel the asphalt and get you going with the smallest touch of the pedal. It provokes, seduces, and demands to be driven hard. It looks, sounds, and smells like performance.

I went last year and IIRC, me and Jimmy were the only ones from our SoCal 318ti group. There was about 6 Ti's total. Clex, Tonyyy, lkwd318ti, jaimito79, windnsea and myself. I might have left 1 other Ti out, but I specifically remember trying to organize a meet before hand to get people to park next to eachother and nobody showed interest. We ended up being scattered all over the place and I'll say that if you want to park together, you better be there at 7am! I was lucky to even get a spot on the showgrounds, most people had to park in dirt parking lots and walk to the show. I actually managed to sneek in for free and get a really nice spot near clex. And then I met Jimmy. Our cars looked BADEFFINASS together. Seriously, I'm definitely going since it's right down the street from my house and if anyone else is interested in going, you better be here early or I'm leaving without you. We had over 2000 Bimmers total, but only about 1500 of us actually got to display our cars. The rest had to park and walk. The drive up the 101 was epic to say the least. Thousands of BMWs sporting drops and dope wheels as far as you could see! I'd love to have a group of ti's parked together, but getting in and parking is no joke. YOU CAN'T MESS THIS UP!!! BE EARLY and make sure your ride is clean or they won't even let you in.

I showed up at about 10am and the place was full. The guy at the gate was cool and let me do a "cruise lap" to see if I could find an open spot from someone who left early. To my suprise, I found a nice spot right in the front row and I must say that the Ti looked pretty good on display next to some newer BMWs. I had a lot of people looking and asking questions, but found out later that Clex stold the show. My car is nothing compared to his. It was actually cool to finally see it in person.

I remember seeing a business card on his car with an offer to buy, lol.

Chill Homie, I was just messin with ya. I've missed a couple meets before and I understand things come up. BTW, I drive all the way down from Ventura to the meets. Last meet I drove 200 miles and had to take a nap in my car on the way home!
