Default 98 m Sport, Cali with 2.8L swap parts

PRICE DROPPED !

I started this project a year and a half ago. Unfortunately for this car a few months later I also picked up a 95M3 and this car went on the back burner. I already have a 95 ti with a 2.5l swap and I LOVE it. I drive it almost every day and it is a blast. I would love this little guy to go to a new home where he will be the star of the show.
The car is a 1998 M sport, Titanium silver with a black interior with a cali roof and heated sport seats. It was owned by a guy who beat on it hard. When I got it it had 152,230 miles the trans was slipping occasionally (auto) and the cali roof was broken. Clean NJ title.
I replaced the roof with an excellent condition used unit, replaced the front control arms (Mele HD and ploy bushings) and the rear shock mounts. I also replaced a headlight and some rub strips. I put on some nice AT Italia 17inch wheels with nice rubber. The car passed NJ inspection and does actually drive kind of (at least enough to get on a trailer)

I located a 97 328is 5 speed that had been totaled and pulled all the parts needed for an engine/trans swap. I prepped the engine by having the injectors cleaned, replaced the upper O2 sensors and a new clutch. I prepped the ZF 5speed by replacing the upper catch pins and the 5th gear and reverse detent pins (these tend to give problems on the ZF and require trans removal so this was the chance to fix them)
I think I have every thing you need for the swap.
Engine, Trans, pedal box, shifter, cluster, DME and manual harness, drive shaft, trans cross member, secondary air pump and exhaust (all from 1 car)
I have new parts also, engine mounts, guibo, center bearing, HD trans mounts, some new water hoses, new AC hose and dryer.

I would like to sell the whole package to 1 person. The car is solid and will clean up nice and will be a blast to drive when finished.

I would like to get 1200. for the car and 1800. for the swap kit.

Thats 3000. for the whole project!

[SOLD] I also have a new set of Bilstein PSS coilovers I bought for the project new in the box. If you buy this package you can have them for an additional 900. [SOLD]

The hood is a replacement and has some rust along the edge and a small dent at the front.

The valence was also replaced and has a small rust spot.

There is a crease in the rear quarter.

Lets see if I get any bites first. You have first dibs on the car alone if I go that way.

Also included with the swap package but not pictured are 2 cat-backs. The original from the E36 and one from an E46. In my other swap Ti I used the pipes from the e36 and the muffler from the E46 connected them with 2 Audi/VW wrap around exhaust clamps and have been running that way for 3 years. The E46 has tighter bends and a slightly shorter muffler so you can shorten the total length of the catback.

It is a standard Bilstein package with non adjustable shocks. I have these on my Ti and love them. They allow getting whatever stance you want. The adjustment allows easy compensation for engine weight if you are doing an engine swap. All I did was apply copper antiseize to the threads and assemble them. Never installed on a car. kit includes adjusting wrenches.

900. with car
950. if purchased separate from car plus shipping

If you were closer I'd buy the swap-kit and you'd be having a day... Too bad. GLWS

95Gizmo,

How many miles on the swap engine? How long did it take you to install the swap-kit?

Is the Bilstein PSS coilover set new? Very interested on these as well.

I am a little embarrassed but I can't find the original CL ad with the mileage from the parts car. It wasn't too high or I wouldn't have bothered with it. I think it was between 120k and 130k. I wish I knew how to power up the cluster to check.

The bilstein coilover set is brand new and was purchased for this project. You can buy it for 900.00 with or without the car.
