Default Windows Home Server?

Anyone have an experience with one of these?

http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/sh...=GG795AA%23ABA

I have one coming tomorrow and am wondering if anyone else has one or played around with one of these? I've already been reading about hacks and upgrades. Typical of me... Brand new toy and I'm already looking to mod it...

The software is Server 2003 based (A simplified version) of which I have a little experience with... You can hot swap up to 1.5TB of SATA hard drives for 2TB of storage, 10 user accounts and limited domain hosting as well...

Are you a student? Dreamspark was giving away Server 2008 for free a while back, not sure if that's still active.

Yea i have one, only reason is because officemax had it onsale for 299. I really don't like the thing. You have to install software to use it unless you really really know what your doing. I don't use windows so i can't install the ****ing software anyways. Regardless everything is proprietary, its ****ing stupid, and there is no working gigabit lan driver for linux so I can't take windows home server off. It can hold a lot more than 1.5tb (only redeeming factor) I heard there are some people pushing 12tb. You can fit 4 1.5tb hdds internally and the esata port has a chipset capable of addressing a sata multiplexer so you can add 4 external sata ports as well.

In the way of modding you can't really do...anything that good. Best mod would be to take this ****ing ****ty windows home server bull**** off.

If you run windows i guess the machine is "ok" at best.
